Coaching is a general term that can really cover any area of life both in a personal and business/professional context. It can cover things such as weight loss, parenting, relationships, dating, exams, career, increasing profits, starting a new business, the list is endless! The focus of our sessions will be determined by you.

Coaching can take on many forms, the most well known of this being sports coaching. However, sports coaching is a very specific area of coaching and whilst it may use some of the techniques from other forms of coaching, it is mainly about teaching athletes to improve their performance.

The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their personal and professional potential.”

It is also helpful to tell you what coaching is NOT:

– It is not ‘therapy’ or counselling
– A coach will not tell you what to do
– A coach should not project their own agenda or views onto you
– A coach does not need to know about your specific problem or area of business
– It is not consulting
– It is not training or teaching
